Has developed and implemented REDD+ projects from design, through funding, implementation and validation/verification to credit issuance for 10+ years, for employers/clients and with partners, and worked on the development of REDD+ programmes under the UNFCCC and jurisdictional nested REDD+. Has contributed to strategy development, liaised with partners/clients/funders, strategically managed programmes of work, risk managed complex projects to deadline, large multidisciplinary project teams and large budgets. Current focus assessing feasibility of new projects and has been involved in the negotiation of project development agreements/Emission Reduction Purchase Agreements. Has provided policy advice to/collaborated with government and undertaken theoretical work on rules for Nature Based Solutions/the Voluntary Carbon Market. A detailed understanding of key standards/rules (including VCS, Verra’s Jurisdictional Nested REDD+ (JNR), CCBS, ART’s TREES, the FCPF’s Methodological Framework and REDD+ requirements under the UNFCCC) and international climate change policy and law (knowledge of Plan Vivo and Gold Standard). Experience with a variety of types of emission reduction/removal projects: avoided deforestation/degradation, reforestation, improved forest management and blue carbon. Knowledge of key/innovative initiatives e.g. Science Based Targets Initiative, GHG Protocol, SD Vista, insetting. A background in accounting/auditing and sustainable business development.
