As a contract machine designer I work in the Equipment Design Group. That is the department responsible for all of the machinery engineering, design & build, and purchase of equipment related to the manufacturing of all Bose products globally. Using NX8 as a CAD package I designed individual work cells related to up coming product launches.

Project lead time development and execution, providing target dates for engineering and operations. Assists in the development of third party material handling, including engineering and manufacturing of these items. Lead in reviewing, analyzing and responding to customer specific technical requirements during contract review through installation phase of the project. Management of risk associated with custom orders. Ensure mechanical, electrical and pneumatic custom design is in compliance with international, federal and local regulatory standards. Support Applications with customer visits and FAT (Factory Acceptance Test). Create and facilitate resolution and completion of customer requests during and post FAT. Responsible for leading my team through project issues and conflict resolution.  Active in the continual quality and cost reduction initiatives.

for the design and procurement of all automation, design validation, test fixtures (ATE, calibration, hi pot, calibration) and burn-in solutions for North America and contract manufactures in Asia. This includes Mansfield MA, Markhan Ontario, and Broomfield Colorado. This involves upgrading existing equipment for process improvement for the manufacturing of legacy products as well as new designs for NPI. Management of outside vendors for equipment builds and supervision of internal tool room. Equipment validation at machine builders and at installation site.

Engineering and design of moderate speed cartoners, tray formers and case packagers. Advocate lean manufacturing and 5-S initiatives for the engineering department. Work with sales in giving each customer a piece of equipment that meets or exceeds the quote. Allocate the 4 other designers/engineers time to assure deadlines are met and the machine is on the customer’s floor on the date stated on the order. I keep sales and management aware of all scheduling and budget matters via through weekly production meetings. It is also my responsibility to qualify the machinery on our floor prior to shipping.

I conceptualize machines with sales department to provide accurate quote for the customer. Upon receipt of the order I am in charge of the design and over seeing the group that will assist in the engineering of said machine. I keep the customer aware of all scheduling and budget matters. During the design, build and qualify phases it is my responsibility for reviewing all pertinent details internally and to hold onsite reviews with the customer to present the automation in stages for their approval.

Reported to president. I managed a group 8 designers and engineers that supported all facets of the manufacturing of specialty pneumatic and hydraulic motion devices. These components are used in automating machines and processes worldwide. Directed QC department for incoming material as well as outgoing production. Met weekly with sales staff to quote new business.

Managed multiple machine design projects and the teams assigned to them. Responsible for manufacturing of automated assembly, test and packaging equipment. Assisted sales with quoting process and met with customer during all phases to assure time line and budget were met. Supervised design teams to deliver quality equipment to customers.

Designed automated aqueous cleaning systems from specifications provided by sales. Interfaced with customers, vendors and manufacturing to insure quality and delivery were met.

Assisted engineering with all in house manufacturing requirements. Including drafting and design of commercial clothes dryer's components, service and manufacturing support.
