As General Manager HSEQ for Geiger Group I am responsible for the strategic management of the HSEQ function. I am responsible for managing and delivering HSEQ services, policies, programs in order to meet our certification and regulatory requirements and the needs of the business. I am passionate about developing and implementing fit for purpose systems and specific training to ensure all employees understand and are capable of managing their HSEQ responsibilities. The key responsibilities for my role include:-- Provide expert technical advice and services to managers, supervisors and employees on a range of health, safety, environmental and quality issues.- Champion the Geiger Group ‘work safe home safe’ culture.- Ensure the quality management system and safety and environmental practices and standards conform to company policy, guidelines and relevant legislation including ISO9001:2008, ISO14001:2004 and AS4801:2001.- Manage the Geiger Group Safety Management System to ensure actions are captured, acted upon and closed out- Investigate or arrange for all safety and environmental incidents, accidents and near misses to be investigated and ensure appropriate reports are prepared so that corrective and preventive actions are implemented - Provide advice, support and leadership to the Safety Committee - Prepare weekly/monthly reports including HSE performance statistics as required - Manage the implementation of the strategic plan as it relates to the HSE team- Manage team budget, report on budgetary variances and recommend remedial action - Lead, direct and support the HSE team to deliver quality HSE services - Overall responsibility for managing the HSE team’s performance including quality of work, customer service and work performance- Establish and maintain professional relationships with all stakeholders

HSE Investigations:-Manage, plan and conduct ICAM investigations. Lead investigations to identify causal factors, systemic, cultural, behavioural and management system deficiencies surrounding the circumstances that contribute to incidents.HSE Systemic and Compliance Audits:-Completion of audits to facilitate continuous improvement of the HSE management systems within Ergon Energy including the effective compliance with relevant legislation.
