At Save A Lot, the Principal Software Engineer performs a variety of duties including lead engineer, application architect, mentor, and technical advisor. During my time in the Principal Engineer role, I led the application development teams through the fourteen-month disengagement effort where Save A Lot moved all of our IT resources from our former parent company’s data center to our own data center. After the disengagement effort, I have been part of the team laying the foundation of Save A Lot’s technological transformation from home grown, monolithic applications to commercial, off the shelf applications integrated using a service oriented architecture based on the Microsoft Azure platform.
