I have a varied background, with over 40 years senior hotel management experience, educational involvement in school governing bodies and other socities such as Round table, and now Rotary. Now through visual imparement I am working closely with Torbay healthwatch, CCG's, and other voluntary organisations to highlight issues and help improve people's quality of life.There is a great need to improve the profile of the Visually Impaired Community in Torbay and beyond.A great need to reach out to the ever increasing population of elderly and newly diagnosed individuals who are at a loss, in emotional turmoil, and do not realise that there is a new and exciting world out there that can transform not only them, but their partners and friends. The old 'One Stop Shop' is still needed, but also action to go out and make contact with these individuals.
