At the current time, I hold the position of Captain within the Marshalltown Police Department. I help provide assistance to my agency by coordinating operational services that specialize in enhancing our department’s ability to more efficiently and effectively provide public safety. In doing so, I have led our department’s investigative division which includes a Financial Fraud and General Crimes Investigator, an Investigator who specializes in Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC), an Investigator who specializes in crimes associated with Violence Against Women and Child Abuse, an Investigator responsible for conducting detailed narcotics investigations and Fire and Arson Investigation. I have also led my department’s School Resource Officer program and crime scene processing and evidence management programs. Some of the areas I have been most involved in are my agency’s Community Outreach Program which encompasses our Neighborhood Watch and Crime Free Multi-Housing Programs, and our City’s Nuisance Abatement, Property Maintenance, and Parking enforcement. In conjunction with my department’s community outreach activities, I am currently responsible for our Police Reserve Unit, and our department’s community service strategy. Each of these diverse responsibilities provides me the opportunity to establish targeted services that continually address quality of life concerns within my community.
