    Mars 2020 Parachute System Cognizant Engineer -- designed, tested, and delivered the strongest parachute system (parachute, mortar, support hardware) ever successfully flown to Mars. This is the largest parachute to have successfully deployed, inflated, and flown at the highest load and the highest Mach number ever achieved by a non-military entity. It is also the first parachute to have ever been photographed from the entry vehicle during descent at Mars.Low Density Supersonic Decelerator (LDSD) Project:Ballute Cognizant Engineer -- oversaw the development of a large (4.4-meter diameter) trailing inflatable supersonic decelerator known as a ballute. This included technical design, mortar development, pre-inflation system development, pre-flight performance analysis, and hardware integration into the flight vehicle. The ballute is the largest successful ballute and has flown at the highest Mach number ever in the history of NASA.SIAD-E Cognizant Engineer -- oversaw the second phase of the design of the 8-meter diameter Exploration-class Supersonic Inflatable Aerodynamic Decelerator (SIAD) device. I also helped coordinate a set of two full-scale rocket sled tests of the device at its full dynamic pressure. A SIAD of this size had never successfully tested at this dynamic pressure before.
