As an airline Captain I lead a crew of 6 pilots and flight attendants and have ultimate responsibility for all passengers, crewmembers, cargo, fuel, weather and flight planning. As a pilot of large transport category aircraft I have extensive experience with FMS, EHSI, ACARS, and advanced avionics operating in congested airspace.

As a Seniority List Instructor, I perform Maneuver Validations and Line Oriented Evaluations of Captains and First Officers obtaining a type rating as well as all training and checking of pilots.

As a First Officer I assist the Captain in conducting the flight safely and efficiently and I assume the responsibility and authority of Captain when necessary during the flight. Assigned to the Nimitz Class aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt as an Air Operations Officer. As an Air Operations Officer I was responsible for supervising the operation of Radar Air Traffic Control Center (RATCC), as well as maintaining liaison with the FAA, local base officials and other international agencies concerned with air traffic control. I was also responsible for establishing operating procedures in accordance with military and civil regulations, representing RATCC in accident investigations and regulation infractions, and the direction of flight checks to ensure the highest degree of safety and efficiency.

As an Instructor Pilot I was responsible for all aspects of student training from professional bearing to technical knowledge and aircraft operation. My primary job was instructing and evaluating student Naval Aviators in eight complex stages of training to ensure that they achieve technical and professional expertise prior to completing the training syllabus and moving on to become Navy and Marine Corps Combat Aviators. In addition to roles in scheduling, logistics and student mentoring, I served as the formation training standardization officer for my squadron. I was subsequently selected as the Formation Training Stage Manager for all T-34C training squadrons in the Navy.

As an Aircraft Commander I was directly responsible for a $35 million dollar aircraft and 11 crew members as well as the safe and efficient execution of flight operations and assigned mission tasking. The responsibilities of Aircraft Commander require a high level of technical expertise and leadership including: the oversight and verification of proper maintenance, navigation and flight planning, aircraft fuel and weapons loading, as well as the safety of the crew members under my command. As a Mission Commander of a Combat Aircrew, I was entrusted to direct a coordinated plan of action and lead the tactical phases of flight operation, including the responsibility of weapons release authority, in addition to the duties of the aircraft commander.

As Assistant Operations Officer for the Offshore Sailing Team I provided oversight of all safety matters, navigation, and crew management as well as financial activities and obligations. During this period I lead crews of 6-8 midshipmen underway during several major ocean races and ocean passages.
