I have made a traditional progression toward Headship through –Head of Department, Head of Faculty, then Assistant Head of Curriculum and finally Assistant Head of Pastoral. At the same time have worked with OFQUAL as a Specialist History Advisor and been a marker for Edexcel, CIE, AQA, OCR and IB. Sharing my expertise, I have also worked as a consultant for OCR, the Gerson Lehrman Group and the International Baccalaureate. This knowledge has been concentrated in my delivery of professional learning through the Holocaust Educational Trust in the UK, the College of the North Atlantic – Qatar, the Supreme Education Council in Qatar and the Sultan Qaboos University in Oman.My experience has enabled me to develop an educational vision and philosophy that can be summed up in the words Purpose, Challenge and Resolution. In my view, staff and students should participate in creating an educational environment of engaged intellectual struggle. To share my vision I work hard to create a unifying narrative which sees that every student faces challenges inside and outside the classroom.
