As Fire Chief, I have the privilege of leading a career fire department with a staff of 19 shift firefighters, one Training Officer, one Fire Marshal, one Deputy Chief, and one civilian secretary. Our department serves nearly 30,000 residents in a 160 square mile area of southwest Missouri. I am responsible for providing the necessary leadership to ensure public safety as well as the overall safety or our personnel. In addition to serving as Fire Chief, I am also the Emergency Management Director for the City of Carthage. I am responsible for coordinating, planning, and executing emergency response plans in times of disaster.

As a POST Generalist Instructor, I teach several courses in the MSSU Law Enforcement Academy.

I managed the Internationally Accredited Firefighter 1 & 2 program for the university on a part-time basis. I was responsible for management of all adjunct fire academy instructors, as well as instructing semester classes.

Responsible for conducting fire scene, explosive, fraud, and related criminal investigations.Conducted interviews/interrogations related to criminal investigations.Produced detailed and truthful reports for courtroom testimony.Created positive working relationships with area fire departments and law enforcement agencies.Conducted public service presentations to community organizations.Instructed Missouri Division of Fire Safety classes.Attended training as required for CEU's as a POST certified law enforcement officer, Missouri Fire Service Instructor II, Missouri Fire Investigator, and Missouri Fire Inspector.
