Since beginning my journey in the environment sector in 2016, I have gained a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience.Completing an honours degree in Countryside Management provided technical management skills, knowledge in a range of ecological and sustainability based subjects, and a track record of producing consistently high quality reports.Soon after graduating, I began my first job in the third sector as a Conservation Project Officer with Fife Coast and Countryside Trust. Working across a wide range of sites, I gained experience in project management, community engagement, ecological surveying, and working in partnership with a range of key stakeholders. Alongside my professional career, I have spent a lot of time volunteering with various conservation organisations over the last six years, including the National Trust for Scotland and the Nevis Partnership. These voluntary experiences have allowed me to develop strong partnerships, work collaboratively with like-minded people, and gain skills in leadership and project management. My recent career move has brought me into the active travel sector, providing opportunity to have a direct impact on improving sustainable travel within Scotland. My current role with Cycling Scotland provides experience of managing grant funding, stakeholder engagement, partnership working, providing bespoke advice to a range of groups and improving my skills in behaviour change.I am passionate about active travel, the outdoors, sustainability, and all things that will help us move towards net zero. I am keen to bring this passion into future roles and continue to expand my skills and knowledge.
