I am currently a corrections officer for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and I am also a reserve soldier for the Texas Army National Guard. Prior to that I worked in warehousing and retail for several years. The National Guard and being a correctional officer indicated to me that I have abilities in management at a level that I did not know that I had before. My ability to organize, plan, then communicate ideas that are successfully executed both in my personal and professional lives led me to discover the career field of Project Management. An accumulation of projects in previous careers like setting a sales goal for the week as a Payless Store leader then creating a schedule, a budget, a strategy, as well holding a meeting with my associate team or assisting my Supply Sergeant in the preparation of a new mission by communicating with leaders in other departments and gathering resources throughout the mission all prepared me for a future career in Project Management. I have experience in supervising, budgeting, scheduling, filing, organizing, planning, hosting meeting team meetings, conducting inventory,-audits and assisting with the management of multi-million dollars of equipment.
