Having graduated with a First Class Hons. Degree in Law (LLB), I am currently working as the Due Diligence Manager at Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. My role involves overseeing the organisation's research due diligence management strategy, coordinating risk assessments and providing guidance on risk mitigation as well as management system design and implementation. Previously, I have worked in licensing, spin-outs and tech transfer as part of the IP Commercialisation Team at The University of Liverpool. There, my focus was on reviewing, drafting and negotiating terms of agreements centred around the successful protection and commercialisation of intellectual property as well as carrying out due diligence on potential partners/licensees and in relation to freedom to operate. Having worked in research contracts for a number of years previously, I am well versed in reviewing, drafting and negotiating all manner of research related agreements. Before my time at Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and the University of Liverpool, my legal career was focused on assessing and advising on the status of off-payroll workers in the general workforce and in the NHS in particular, with a specific focus on the legislation known as IR35.
