As the current Acting SafeGuarding Support Manager at Heriot-Watt University, my role encompasses leading safeguarding initiatives, a responsibility I've embraced since April 2023. With over 5 years as a SafeGuarding Officer, I've developed a keen expertise in continuing to build secure environments for our university community. Our team's commitment to safety and well-being is unwavering, and together, we've cultivated a proactive culture that prioritizes the protection of all individuals on campus.As well as my work with systems I am responsible for drone safety on all of Heriot-Watt University's UK campuses, I oversee the implementation and maintenance of comprehensive drone safety protocols. My role involves ensuring compliance with regulations, promoting best practices, and fostering a culture of safety among staff and students engaged in drone operations.In addition to my drone safety management responsibilities, I am a certified professional drone pilot at GVC level. My expertise enables me to contribute to projects that leverage drone technology while prioritizing safety and efficiency.I am passionate about advancing the safe and responsible use of drones in academia and beyond, and I am always eager to connect with fellow professionals in the industry to share insights and collaborate on new initiatives.
