I have happily retired early.Part of my reasoning for retiring is that I have a chronic (and currently incurable) blood cancer, Myeloma, so I am focusing on my health. As part of this I'm now volunteering my experience to researchers to help develop new and better treatments for fellow sufferers.I have also become a governor at my local Primary School to keep my brain active and give something back to my community.I was a highly experienced senior Lean Consultant / Trainer and Operations Manager. My last company was EDF as part of their very successful internal Operational Excellence team from 2015 to 2020.Previously I was an independent Lean consultant (for three years) and an Associate of OEE Consulting Ltd. (now Gobeyond Partners). Contracts included working with a Private Medical Insurance company to help build their Operational Excellence capability, supporting one of the UK's (and world's) top universities to improve its student processes, and a pension administration outsourcer to diagnose operational improvements.Prior to this, I was in retail banking for 24 years with 18 years of customer service and operations experience, the last 10 in Lean operations as an internal senior Lean Consultant. I have many years of hands-on Lean expertise and significant experience in setting-up and leading large-scale Lean Sigma improvement teams and programmes. I led Lean Sigma education within the Lloyds Banking Group growing the Group's internal improvement capability, and I carried out a similar role within EDF.Specialties: Lean in financial services and energyConsultingOperations managementIn-house training and mentoring
