About Christopher Warren
Christopher Warren, JD, PhD, serves as the Vice President of Curatorial Affairs and Chief Curator at the National World War I Museum and Memorial in Kansas City, MO. Prior to joining the NWWIMM, Dr. Warren worked as the Director of Curatorial Affairs at the Smithsonian National Postal Museum, Curator of American History at the Library of Congress, Senior Historian at Arlington National Cemetery, and as a historian and curator for the U.S. Department of Defense including the U.S. Air Force History & Museum Program and the Naval History & Heritage Command. He also served as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and as a U.S. Air Force Intelligence Officer. His research specialties include late 19th and early 20th century U.S. and military history including the Gilded Age and Progressive Era as well as the American experience in the First World War. He has published articles in numerous publications including the Journal of the American Revolution, MHQ: The Quarterly Journal of Military History, Federal History Journal, Naval Aviation News, and routinely lectures on historic topics. Dr. Warren's doctoral dissertation, currently being edited for publication, focuses on the burial and memorialization of Confederate dead in national cemeteries and its effect on the nature of commemoration, reunification, gender, race relations, and politics in turn-of-the-century America. In addition to his PhD, Dr. Warren has a Juris Doctorate in Law from George Mason University and a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Kansas.
