Nucleate is a free and collaborative student organization with a mission to facilitate the formation of life science companies at the earliest stage.Our leadership team is composed of student volunteers from top research universities around the nation, we take no equity in the companies we support, and we have an educationally driven mission. We are currently in the process of registering as a 501c3 non-profit organization.

• Develop robust screening assays to support ASO platform development and current Research aims• Lead purchasing and installation efforts of an integrated automated platform for high-throughput screening applications• Design automated scripts for a variety of teams and drive translation of manual-based methods to automated methods• Create robust QC testing and tracking methods for robotic platforms• Organize efforts to create functional Standard Operating Procedures across the Research group and standardize protocols for automated methods• Work with external vendors to enhance current HTS capabilities• Trained on Hamilton STAR, Tecan EVO, and PerkinElmer Janus systems

• Wrote scripts and provided error recovery methods for automated liquid handlers• Served as a cross-functional asset for company’s variety of automation needs• Engaged in discussions with external vendors surrounding automated platform• Ran clinical and research samples through a variety of cell-based assays

• Run T cell assays including cell sorting and flow cytometry and ELISA-based assays including MSD to screen for vaccine candidates• Operate liquid handling robots• Process blood for research use and culture live human cells• Analyze data and present findings at company meetings

• Optimized cell sorting procedures and performed cell culture of oncology samples to support Screening and Pleiades teams• Improved assay development for company projects

• Conducted internal laboratory safety checks in preparation for a facility-wide internal HSE audit and updated various inventories• Assessed over 1/3 of the facility's 250 employees' ergonomic setups and worked with them to improve their postures• Administered respiratory fit tests to many of the site's employees

• Communicated with operators and developed Standard Operating Procedures for employee tasks• Incorporated Operator Interface Terminal concepts to operate floor machinery• Collaborated with Performance Excellence team to develop and implement new staff training programs• Assessed lock-out and tag-out protocols and developed new procedures

• Assessed safety of machinery and wrote a lock-out/tag-out system for facility• Identified areas needing safety improvement and created appropriate signage• Performed risk assessments in major plant areas
