Sitting within Strategy and Government Advice my role covers various aspects of NE's marine work:• Co-led NE’s strategic response to the East Marine Plan, advising on natural capital approaches and shaping the sustainability appraisal. (SA, SEA, HRA)• Spearheaded the update of the MoU between NE and MMO, enhancing collaboration for marine nature recovery and sustainable management.• Supported the development of a strategic review of plan-level cumulative effects assessments within a cross-SNCB steering group.• Represented NE across multiple SNCBs, contributing expertise to marine planning and spatial prioritisation.• Authored strategic liaison handling plans with associated stakeholders.• Served as liaison between NE and MMO for high-level consultations and licensing issues.• Chaired the Marine Casework Network, facilitating discussions on legislative alignment and policy implications.• Implemented internal process reforms for marine consultations, streamlining procedures.• Developed comprehensive internal guidance documents for various consultation scenarios.• Produced scopes for projects within designated sites, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.• Led efforts to explore cost recovery opportunities for marine licensing initiatives in collaboration with MMO.• Organised, developed, and led comprehensive training workshops focused on marine licensing procedures.• Provided advice on marine licence applications.
