I entered the workforce when I was 14 years old, I started out working at my hometown McDonald's and spent 4 years with the company while I was in highschool. I developed a variety of skills, specifically team building and leadership as I climbed the ladder from Crew Member to Store Manager. I also learned how to work well under pressure and how to pay close attention to detail. From there I began my career in the Hospitality Industry and over 10 years I gained experience working in all positions. I have always had a passion for food and so I started in a kitchen as a dishwasher and worked my way up to becoming Sous Chef of my own kitchen. I had to be very organized, adhere to strict deadlines and keep calm under stressful circumstances. I also spent time working as a server and bartender which required me to use many of the existing skills I had learned and also gave me the opportunity to take my passion and knowledge for cuisine and sell that to customers while providing them with an excellent guest experience. We would participate in regular sales competitions between staff and this fueled my desire to hold myself to a goal. In order to sell effectively I had to get to know my guests and build trust where they would take my reccomendations, this required clear and effective communication as well as a deep knowledge in the product I was pushing. I am naturally a very competitive person and I believe my experience has instilled a strong work ethic in me and I look forward to a new role where I can put these traits and learned skills to work and be successful.
