I was responsible for the smooth operation of a Basic Oxygen Steelmaking vessel, from the receipt of iron torpedoes to delivery of steel to the Concast plant, or ingot teeming bays. This included ensuring that the iron to be used was desulphurised correctly, setting up the vessel heat balance, charging the vessel at the right time and ensuring the steel.

Lydmet is a manufacturer of cast iron products, specialising in engine parts for the automotive industry.My main role was to run the sand mixing plant, ensuring consistent sand quality was continuously supplied to each of the 4 production lines.
