Christopher Wise has over 25 years’ experience working in the art world. As Vice President, Mr. Wise is responsible for expanding Risk Strategies' (formerly DeWitt Stern) practice with a broad section of clients including galleries, museums, artists, foundations, and collectors. He has experience with layered fine art placements in excess of $500M, construction, real estate, commercial auto, and general liability. Mr. Wise is also experienced with personal lines and life and health insurance. Prior to joining Risk Strategies, Mr. Wise was Executive Vice President at UOVO. He played a key role on the founding leadership team managing legal, insurance and operations. Prior to UOVO, Mr. Wise was director and co-founder of SD Fine Art Storage, an owner and developer of fine art property in New York. He has held positions as gallery assistant, curatorial assistant and art handler working for the Drawing Center, Museum of Modern Art and various small dealers in 49 Geary in San Francisco. Mr. Wise is a frequent speaker on collection management and risk management at professional and educational organizations including the Association of Registrars & Collection Specialists (ARCS), American Alliance of Museums (AAM), The Aspen Institute’s Artist Endowed Foundation Initiative (AEFI), Sotheby’s Institute, and 92Y. He serves on the board of Independent Curators International (ICI). Mr. Wise graduated with honors from Knox College with a dual degree in Studio Art and English Literature.
