As the science lead teacher I oversaw the planning and delivery of science in the school. I created an action plan for future academic years and I improved the delivery of the subject through identifying teachers' strengths and weaknesses. I oversaw an extremely successful science enrichment day based around a mystery in space.

I was the class teacher for 5B as well as the subject leader of science in Doha Academy's Al Waab Primary. As class teacher I oversaw all the teaching and learning for my class, I ensured that lessons were differentiated and facilitated students making progress. I planned, delivered and assessed all the core lessons that the class took.

I took the lead in the history department at Doha Academy. As the sole teacher in the boy's section of the school I planned and deliver all lessons creating a pathway of learning. I have marked GCSE examinations for Edexcel on a contract basis since the summer of 2008. In every series subsequent to my initial appointment I have been proactively contacted by Edexcel to mark examinations.

Following the late fall through of a teaching position I took up distance learning at the University of Law completing an LL.M International Legal Practice (LPC). I passed all modules at the first attempt and have obtained a commendation and am now eligible for a training contract position. The course has provided me with a wider skillset than I previously held. I delivered Cambridge Middle Years English program, IGCSE History and Grade 10 History (American system).I planned and implemented the outcome based curricula that I delivered. I created the entire curriculum that I taught from the bottom up with simple focuses. The main aim for my Grade 10 students and my KS3 English Students was to improve their knowledge and use of the English language. During this post I:- Created a curriculum from scratch for all the classes that I taught.- Researched and produced a report on the educational provision offered, evaluating which curriculum standards to be followed, curriculum frameworks, ways to improve our students’ English and ways in which the school can gain accreditation. Many of these recommendations have been put into place this academic year.- Organized and produced a whole school Remembrance Day assembly.- Delivered a topic talk on the 7 wonders of the world with my wife.- Organized a reading program for my KS3 English class including organizing a reading day for the High School and a link up with the lower school.- Had observations lesson which were rated as outstanding by the school's principal.I took on additional tasks and responsibilities during the year which were beyond what was expected of me to ensure that the students under my care made progress, and I envisage doing the same for future employers.

I was the only History teacher in the boys section of the school therefore I had a great degree of autonomy in my teaching. I was responsible for the planning and delivery of the History IGCSE program which was successful in covering the content for the students and preparing them for their examinations. I also planned and delivered the KS3 (ages11-13) curriculum in conjunction with the head of department. My key strength in this role came from my organisational skills wherein I had plans in place for the entire curriculum that I was delivering and adapted this where necessary. I demonstrated my ability to maintain discipline on a daily basis through presenting reward as a countermeasure to misbehaviour. I was also a form tutor during both of the years which I taught in the school. I was responsible for: ensuring that the students were equipped during the day, setting standards for their discipline and also report completion and distribution for the form class. In the six reports that I completed during my time here all were completed on time and the content was completed to the highest of standards.

I handled a large number of transactions while maintaining accuracy in areas such as; cash handling, information given to customers and lane allocation. I am highly pro-active in generating company income through selling additional products such as extra games and food.

Took the lead in the History department designing and implementing the History curriculum for years 11-13, communicating this to; students, staff and parents. I engaged pupils in their studies, achieving results that were above average in all classes. I also supervised the Sixth-Form boarding house twice weekly, ensuring the smooth running of the house and dealing with any issues that arose. Taking up the post part way through the year I planned and implemented the curriculum for classes, making lessons interesting whilst ensuring conformity with national curriculum.I redesigned the departmental VLE to move it from being a holding page to a fully functional interactive learning and revision environment.
