Skilled in stakeholder management, integration of clinical with financial imperatives and strategic planning.I have been a thoracic & sleep physician for nearly twenty years having started this career in London at the Royal Brompton Hospital. I continue in a busy public and private practice with an interest in interstitial lung disease and pulmonary hypertension, both rarer but challenging lung diseases. I have served as a unit director for a year and as the chair of the Queensland respiratory clinical network for two years within this time. I've also served six months as a medical advisor to the Quenesland chief health officer in 2022 during the COVID pandemic. I've therefore spent considerable time working at different levels of government in various representative and policy settings.I have spent more than a decade representing the medical profession through the Australian Medical Association and was the Queensland President from 2015 - 2017 and the National Vice-President from 2018 - 2020. Through this time I've developed a strong interest in medical leadership and understand its seminal value.
