Associate Technical Engineer: Aug 1981-1983• Prototyping and testing satellite flight boards• Review, update and create documentation for Initial design verification, testing, and troubleshooting of flight boards by drafting and updating ECNs through the design project stages.• Troubleshoot and fix complex satellite ground equipment – more ECNs Technical Engineer: 1983-1985• Design, fabrication, testing, and documentation of STEs (Special Test Equipment) units, including writing all test procedures for the individual flight boards for the CLP (Central Logic Processor).• Produce prototypes of flight boards and cable harnesses built to design specs for testing STEs before connecting to flight boards. The end-to-end builds provided a platform to test with flight boards to write and validate production test procedures.• Deliver STEs, cable harnesses, and flight board test procedures to production for initial testing for general Q/A and extreme environmental testing (heat, cold, vacuum, vibration, etc.) with flight boards Senior Technical Engineer – 1985-1987• Engineered design prototypes where product designs were rendered in SW rather than the HW-based STEs via MATS (Machine Automated Test System) stations. SW-based model flight boards were simulated by manually transcribing all the military spec components in a library and connections according to the schematics. A program was written to test the simulated flight boards followed by instructions, a cable, and test procedures for all the usual production testing.• Designed, documented, built, and delivered a cable harness of more than 1400 wires with detailed instructions to perform the complete series of production and environmental testing using MATS interfaced to the flight boards via harness. The CLP flight box was tested by combining all the flight board programs to perform end-to-end CLP flight box testing.
