Embarked on a new industry to learn and helped launch UTI Long Beach, an automotive trade school campus newly built in 2015. Was a unique experience to launch a facility from the ground up, training all new staff, implementing policies and procedures. Classroom training aids heavy in CAPEX, reconciled a $20 million fixed asset roster by physically verifying all assets, a first for the brand new facility. Performed the financial close, reviewed journal entries, problem-solved budget variance analysis. Collaborated with other department heads and budget owners to help construct each departmental budget for the fiscal year.
