Fermion is owned and operated by me, Christopher Apps, it’s founder and Director. I have over 20 years’ continuous experience as a Psychologist working in the field of assessments and psychometric testing. Over the past 16 years I have specialised in psychometric testing for recruitment and organisational psychology. I am motivated by a desire to remain contemporary, well-informed, and professional. I am registered with APHRA and as such I am bound by a Code of Conduct and obligated to undertake ongoing professional development. This gives my clients assurances of ethical and professional behaviour and an avenue to complain if those standards are not met.Fermion has many long-term clients based in Wollongong, Sydney, and throughout Australia. Being Wollongong based does not limit Fermion’s capacity to work with our clients. Knowledge and expertise have no geographical boundaries, but operating costs do. Why should you, as a client, pay for someone’s else high capital city operating costs.Since I started Fermion, I have conducted thousands of psychometric tests for recruitment, be it aptitude and cognitive tests, or personality profiles. The results of these tests and profiles are interpreted and explained to my clients in the context of the candidate’s CV, the role they have applied for and the culture of the workplace.At times, I would get a new client and do their testing, however, when the candidate did not work out the client would blame the psychometric testing without looking at the wider context of their recruitment process and workplace.From this I set myself the goal of developing a fool-proof way to recruit good staff and then how to keep them engaged and motivated. I set about reading, listening, and researching and eventually I designed a process or framework that achieves these goals and I call it, “Recruitment to Retention: How to Select Good Staff & Keep Them”.
