Position SummaryThe SOC Technician II will support the SOC Vision to protect and preserve the integrity of the network, services, and infrastructure and provide best in class Service Assurance, Network Intelligence, Communication, and Coordination reinforcing the Company goal to be the most trusted provider in America. This Technician will assume responsibility for any/all proactive and reactive tasks outlined in core functions (Incident Management, Service Assurance, Change Management, Reporting & Analysis) & will perform triage and remote restore functionality in a Tier III environment including Incident Command of any multi-customer outage.Responsibilities• Performs triage and remote restore functionality in a Tier III environment to minimize customer-impacting outages & service degradation• Performs and/or assists with internal escalation on all hardware and software failures, circuit troubles, & all network related outages to comply with Cox standards• Uses Unix command line functions to both log in & manipulate various equipment vendor types (Cisco/Juniper/etc) with a focus on repair and isolation, as well as failover & investigate potential problems before they affect the customer• Gathers & analyzes outage activities to identify trends and ensure prompt resolution of alarm/fault conditions. Reviews available telemetry to ensure pro-active repairs are scheduled & completed prior to failure• Investigates contention/slow-speed issues relating to the Cable Modem Termination System (CMTS) / IP Network, and proactively directs maintenance activity to avoid further customer impact• Analyzes and/or assists with the analysis of equipment data, traffic data & surveillance data to predict and repair network faults• Identifies & assists with creating & implementing process improvements & methods & procedures (M&P) documents• Coordinates and/or assists in coordinating inter-departmental personnel, local service providers & customers to restore circuit outages

Position Summary Responsible for all monitoring, alarming, documenting & reporting in conjunction with various internal departments & external NOC’s. Responsible for all system event tickets & processes from creation to completion, working with all internal & external support staff. Monitors, triages, dispatches & supports system outage & planned repair situations, reads system prints & provides documented verification of restored service. Ensures services provided to customers meet SLA & Quality of Service performance levels. Operation is a 24/7/365 work environment.Responsibilities• Monitors & investigates all incoming alarms, email & tickets from various platforms.• Identifies & troubleshoots HFC plant issues, including but not limited to: node outages, commercial power outages, fiber cuts, signal to noise degradation, CPD, & other degrading but not full outage conditions that can impact call volume & service levels.• Quickly identifies fix agents necessary to address issues, directs & instructs fix agents through problem resolution.• Monitors & coordinates maintenance activities for all outage conditions throughout network & checks for 911 calls before allowing maintenance to proceed.• Ensures daily shift ticket turnover by providing detailed documentation of each ticket’s status & any pertinent information relating to issues that occurred during shift.• Uses all available video monitoring tools for identifying & troubleshooting video issues• Processes change management requests according to SOC process, investigates change activity pre/post change to ensure customer impact is resolved before closing change• Utilizes tools to monitor and identify RF related issues affecting plant performance. • Initiates & facilitates telephone bridges to appropriately coordinate resolution to an event & acts as an incident commander in the absence of the Supervisor. • Adheres to SLA in reference to outage management, notifications, & escalations.
