The Asia Pacific Education & Marketing Subcommittee aims to raise awareness of the FIX Protocol within the Securities Industry in the Asia Pacific region by coordinating a range of events, including educational conferences, briefings, quarterly meetings and other initiatives. Currently these are held in Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, India and increasingly other developing FIX markets around the region.

In August 2009, Chi-X Global joined forces with the Singapore Exchange (SGX) to develop and launch the first exchange-backed non displayed venue in Asia. Chi-East commenced operations on the 11th November 2010 for securities listed in Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and recently Australia. Chi-East acts as an independent liquidity aggregator for the sell side and offers another execution option in the form of a non displayed venue that expands the range of available solutions for conducting block transactions with price improvement.
