I grew up on Cape Cod, Massachusetts where I attended Mashpee High School. Throughout my tenure in high school, I was an avid soccer player and developed a true passion for the sport. This passion began during the 2014 World Cup, where I was introduced to the global impact and global power the sport had not only in Brazil, where the games were being played, but the pulsing effect it leaves behind in communities around the world. Since this tournament, I have become fascinated with the ins and outs of the sport and the lasting impact it has on the lives of billions around the world. In the Summer of 2022 I was given the opportunity to be a Americorps VISTA at South End Soccer & Boston Unity Cup where I was able to experience, first hand the impact it has on the community I live in. Duirng this Summer Vista, we were able to provide nearly 200 youth players, the opportunity to play soccer, regardless of their prior experience or socio-economic backgrounds through South End Soccer. Following this Summer VISTA, I was given an extension to my service and am now a full-year VISTA with South End Soccer. This past fall we hosted a successful grassroots program where roughly 150 players were given the opportunity to play and develop through our programming. We were able to provide a dozen players the opportunity to watch a Northeastern Men's soccer game and learn about the game, instead of learning how to play the game. Since my passion for the sport began, I have experienced the growth in soccer in America and am excited to see the game grow as the global game slowly grows throughout the country.
