Senior Planner

Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority

Saint Petersburg, Florida

Began my role at PSTA as a Scheduler working with the Transportation Department in the planning and implementation of Union driver schedules for 375+ drivers and 42 routes throughout Pinellas County, Florida. This was during an Administrative transition phase in which the Planning Department was expanding and my role in Transportation was taken with the understanding that it would provide a unique foundation to add to the new expanding Planning Department. Since moving to the Planning Department at PSTA, I have taken on a much wider spectrum of duties that includes the Supervision and Management of multiple short-and long-term planning projects.

Dec 2012 - Sep 2017

Senior Gis Analyst

The Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR), established in 1988, has become recognized nationally and serves as an important resource for policymakers, transportation professionals, the education system, and the public. With emphasis on developing innovative, implementable solutions to transportation problems, CUTR provides high quality, objective transportation expertise in the form of technical support, policy analysis, and research support that translates directly into benefits for its project sponsors. As a GIS Analyst, I provide an advanced level of support to 50+ research personnel for a multitude of projects. Using ArcGIS10, I implement a variety of GIS tools into the analysis and production of advanced products throughout the center. Some of my most notable successes include:-Co-managed multiple bus stop inventory projects for municipalities throughout Florida. -Co-managed the development of the Pinellas County road jurisdiction development project. This project was responsible to analyzing the legal descriptions of hundreds of road and land jurisdiction notices and mapping these instances in a GIS. The project involved working in conjunction with 24 municipalities within Pinellas County and the Pinellas County government. A very challenging project, however, with our assistance and GIS expertise it was a rewarding and successful venture for all involved. -Developed a new graphic template to display Transportation Development Plans from a GIS for the Western Florida Regional Planning Council. The new map templates were successfully developed, disseminated, and extremely well received by our clients. To date, I continue to participate in multiple transit related GIS projects, both large and small. Work extensively with ArcGIS 10, GoogleEarth, ArcGlobe, ArcScene, and have begun to take advantage of my knowledge in ERDAS Imagine.

Gis Analyst - 2011 Summer Atlantic Water Team

Nasa Langley Research Center - Hampton, Virginia

The NASA DEVELOP Applied Sciences Program is a highly competitive internship program. Chosen from a pool of over 800 candidates, I was one of 60 fortunate students from across America to participate in this unique experience at the famed NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA for the summer of 2011. The program takes 60 individuals from a pool of many of the best students in their fields and divides them into 8 groups, each of which is given 10 weeks to complete a highly technical environmental research project. Myself, along with 7 other students ranging from high school to graduate school were tasked with analyzing the current Earth observations satellite system (A-train) and determining how NASA might be able to take these satellite resources and implement a monitoring system for harmful algal blooms (HAB) along the east coast of the US from Maine to the Florida Keys. Our project focused on the current HAB-OFS monitoring system in the Gulf of Mexico that monitors HAB events related to red tide, and modeled our findings after this NOAA sponsored experiment. Once our project was completed, representative from our team presented our findings to the Applied Sciences Program Director for NASA, Lawrence Friedl, on August 4, 2011 in Washington DC. In addition, our project was published in an online magazine, EarthZine.com. This program has reiterated my understanding in the importance of being able to work effectively on both on a team, as well as, on my own in the most demanding and challenging of work atmospheres. This program has taught me a great deal about who I am, and how to understand the personalities of others while being able to best work with different personalities in a team oriented work place. Moreover, it has proved to me that I have risen above the norm and I, humbly, believe that I have earned the right to be among the best there is out there at one of the best research centers in the world, NASA Langley Research Center.
