Territorial Social Services Research Specialist

• Create and compile research, statistical reports, and evaluation measurements on program outcomes and goals.• Coordinate with CRD, Legal, Risk Management, Divisional Social Services, and others to develop reports for grants, audits, policy recommendations, special initiatives, etc.• Lead or participate in program reviews across the territory, providing guidance, resources, and recommendations based on best practices and the National Social Services Standards.• Review and prepare project proposals for administrative action by Territorial Program Council (TPC).• Serve as instructor for the sociology and social work class at the College for Officer Training (CFOT).• Represent the department on various committees, including the National Pathway of Hope Committee, Territorial Enterprise Risk Management Committee, Territorial Literary Council, and other ad-hoc groups for specific issues.• Develop or revise training curriculums and manuals in areas such as software, case management, spiritual care, social services standards/policies, and support group facilitation.• Collaborate with the IT Dept. and outside vendors to improve software products and resolve user requests.• Produce and maintain an index of all social services programs and resources in the Western Territory, developing new databases, charts, and maps as needed.• Assist with coordinating and/or presenting at social services conferences as needed.• Coordinate field placements and provide supervision/projects for university interns as needed.• Work with the Legal Dept. to review contracts and grant applications as needed.
