Graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2004 with a double major of Actuarial Science and Economics. Based on my love of mathematics, problem solving and critical thinking I started with Aetna in their Actuarial Student program. After passing the first two actuarial exams, and some personal issues, I opted to not continue taking actuarial exams while continuing to work in the actuarial field. After several years and a few promotions, I leveraged my actuarial and underwriting experience and went to work for the Rating Support Team. In that role, I gained valuable project management skills while working on enhancements to our rating system. Each change was a mini-project to be managed and required communication with end users, programmers and senior leaders. On a few of the larger projects, I was given the opportunity to temporarily manage people. Wanting to manage and inspire people full time, I moved to the position I'm currently in where I manage two full time staff members that are both fully remote (like myself). I've managed this staff for the past 3 years and helped develop their skills to continue their growth as well.As an advocate for change, I strive to deliver innovation through collaboration and inspirational leadership. I'm a lifelong lover of math, logic and efficiency.
