In an era that saw the launch of flaming crossbones and super-sick graphic stickers within the skateboarder culture, Chris Glawe’s career spark was kindled. The edgy imagery and typography appealed to him on a visceral level, and his interest transformed into a burning desire to create designs that capture people’s imaginations. Initially focusing his education on commercial art by attending Pratt Institute, he then veered into a short stint doing corporate marketing before being influenced by a number of creative freelance gigs. Those projects led to him being fundamentally changed, which caused him to re-target his focus specifically into a career of graphic design. After landing his first major role working with the world-famous Blue Man Group of performance artists creating print ads, marketing collateral, digital design, and merchandise sold at the group’s concerts / shows, he moved to Oregon and now is the Senior Graphic Designer at Washington County Visitors Association. Chris now spends his time building out innovative and engaging designs geared to draw visitors to the area. He is also frequently involved in additional freelance projects including working with the Portland Timbers MLS fan club. Chris’ graphic design philosophy and driving mantra is to have a strong communications pipeline between himself and design clients. He is a firm believer in pushing creative envelopes by using the research he gathers to influence designs to create imagery that differentiate clients within increasingly-congested marketplaces.https://christopherglawe.com
