Gained additional experience in the IT field by interning for Chestnut Consulting twice over the past few years. Most recently, I was there between September and October of 2016, aiding with developing the company's documentation for their clients, migrating password data from Microsoft Excel to the program KeePass. My secondary duty was accompanying a senior technician for on-site work at a client site where I set up several new computers by imaging via System Center, and then loading needed applications such as Office, Adobe reader and client-specific programs. The first internship with Chestnut occurred from April 2014 to May 2014. During that experience, I traveled with the owner to several client sites, also helping with deployment of new systems and migration of data with Windows Migration Tool, as well as helping end users with the set up of their new systems, answering their questions and troubleshooting issues.

Primary technician for tune-ups, a set checklist of tools and techniques to speed up customers' computers, checking for malware, adware, disk permission issues and hardware failures. Assisted customers both over the phone and in store, processing their computers for check-in or check-out, answering their questions, addressing concerns in a professional manner and giving my recommendations for their technology needs. Diagnosed customers' computers brought in for a variety of issues, including malware infections, hard drive failures or liquid damage to the logic boards. Processed parts orders through Apple, and received both stock and service parts upon their arrival at the store. Each day, I was counted on as a crucial part of the team, taking on duties in multiple areas of the business and suggesting ideas to make the service department even better.

Lead technician for a project involving network monitoring software, in which I researched and configured a new monitoring server, Cacti, to replace their existing product and add features such as making links to critical network traffic graphs accessible on the company Sharepoint site. While there, I was a big part of the network engineering area of the department, impressing my supervisors with my soft skills and ability to quickly improve myself. Additionally, I helped out with Wi-MAX device configuration and drive testing, network camera configuration, and a major rollout of network phones.
