Salutations,My name is Christopher Pickett; I am currently a Paraprofessional. I am also an art enthusiast; dabbling in oil painting, photography, poetry and improv comedy. I try to merge these aspects of my life because I think self expression is one of the most beautiful and vital parts of the human condition because without it, there would be little room to understand one another and without understanding, we struggle to work together successfully. I want to be apart of a team that helps people and each other. Progress is my main goal and I'm eager to learn from a different perspective. Over the last few years, I’ve gotten a chance to work directly with adolescent youths; encouraging them to believe in themselves and practice self-love while teaching other life skills such as cooking and cleaning. I feel like I’ve learned a lot about the depths of the human condition through my experiences. They have made me more humble as well as more patient, and I am appreciative for the bonds made. My main emphasis is to help strengthen the spaces that have been overlooked, or targeted in our communities . I'm confident in my ability to contribute to this organization because I understand that progress usually only comes before struggle in the dictionary. I also believe creating sustainable communities to be a revolutionary act. I want to be able to excel and progress as a human being as well as help this organization grow as well.
