As a calibration engineer at Delphi, I have worked on vehicle production programs calibrating and improving software to meet customer requirements and CARB regulations. Throughout my career at Delphi I have advanced my knowledge in software and the integration to hardware. I have improved software that had problems or general improvements to have calibrations to compensate for new advancements while meeting regulations. The advanced development programs have increased my knowledge on engines and improved my Matlab skills to analyze the data and draw conclusions.Programs that I have worked on are- Honda - Full engine calibration to meet emissions and customer requirements. - Calibration Focus - Evaporative, thermal estimators, Drivability, emissions, transient fuel, E100 cold starts. - 48V Mild Hybrid with Dynamic Skip Fire - calibration to optimize the two advanced engine developments for fuel efficiency and emissions. - Data analysis with Matlab to optimize the benefits of both engine advancements. Presenting data to customers and professional papers. - Software development for integration between the two hardware's for performance and efficiency.- Dynamic Skip Fire - calibration of optimization for engine efficiency, torque, and NVH to provide benefits for a conventional car with dynamic skip fire. - GAC - Full engine calibration to meet emissions and customer requirements. - Calibration Focus - Evaporative, evaporative diagnostics, thermal estimators, drivability, emissions, transient fuel, cold starts, - Software development for new integrated hardware- Electrical cylinder deactivation (EDEAC) - calibration optimization for engine efficiency, torque, and NVH to provide benefits for a conventional car. - Define and show the benefits of EDEAC over dynamic skip fire with prediction scripts and measures.

Angels Auto is a small dealership, where I was a mechanic. The company would buy wrecked cars or cars that wouldn't run. I would disassemble the cars that were wrecked and rebuild back up to OEM specifications. With this job I have worked on a variety of cars and a variety of problems. Some cars that come in that have difficulty running or don't run at all, I also have to diagnose. This job has taught me many different possibilities for cars not running and money management. Find the different ways to fix cars and the most money beneficial.

During the Co-Op I would design and fabricate rack and pinions setups for classic cars. I would disassemble classics steering linkage systems and design new ways to incorporate rack and pinions on the vehicles. To design the brackets to hold the rack and pinions, I would start with sheets of metal. Bending and welding the brackets into location, I would then solid model them on the computer. I would have to collaborate with the machine shop and sheet metal bending shop that they could be made and bent into shape. I loved working for Maval, and being able to apply my hands on skills and engineering knowledge in the workforce.
