Manager Of Continuous Improvement
The position is responsible for actively and visibly, providing leadership and direction for the Continuous Improvement program. The program office is responsible for enacting the CI framework and moving the company down the maturity path for continuous improvement. The office works with the company executive team and the divisional leadership teams to set improvement goals, promote CI culture and, drive value to the organization. A key function is also ensuring CI efforts and projects align with the executive team’s business strategy and the divisional leadership’s objectives. Another responsibility of the office is to maintain the training curriculum and to train employees based on the Lean Six Sigma Body of Knowledge for Champions/Sponsors, Green and Yellow belts. Improvement projects that cross divisional boundaries, are highly complex and may require financial investment are lead by the office’s black belts.The CI office also manages the company wide employee suggestion program. Engineering Water Front Support Ddg1000 Test And Activation
Concurrent with Control Systems EngineerRole required constant flexibility and endurance. Plans changed by the hour in many cases as equipment became available or unavailable which required constant communications with multiple organizations to ensure tests could be completed, documented and witnessed. Managed several long testing events which included understanding the scope of the tests, personnel required, equipment required, developing the execution plans/schedule, communication of those plans/schedule, reporting on the schedule, documenting and resolving discrepancies with the tests and engaging multiple organizations to resolve testing/equipment issues. Role also included acting as a liaison with Engineering to ensure issues were communicated clearly (not just technically but also urgency), the appropriate personal were notified and further troubleshooting could be scheduled.
Detail Test And Activation Scheduler
Member of a special team of 8 to detail schedule the test and activation of the first in class DDG 1000 Zumwalt Destroyer. This involved using my knowledge of the various integrated systems on the ship and their dependencies on one another. It required scheduling to the specific piece of equipment level and the activities required to ensure the piece of equipment was tested to support follow on activities. It also required the development of several tools to ensure the knowledge gained could be utilized on follow on ships. The result of this assignment will be a completely integrated construction, Test and Activation schedule.
Deltek Implementation
I worked on a small team to implement the Deltek Suite of Integrated Program Management software. I participated in the define phase creating process maps and providing details to configure the software as required. I was a member of the go-live team which ensured that people were trained and the tools were ready for users. I was lead for PM Compass and was the lead tester for three major software updates. I documented over 100 bugs and communicated our requirements to Deltek to ensure the software worked as required.
