Experienced in research and evaluation (government, consultancy, academic and non-profit settings), community development and engagement, policy development, fundraising and programme management - all linked to regional and urban development, education, employment and skills, and sport and culture.I current lead Community Development at Skateboard GB, the National Governing Body for skateboarding. This involves helping a diverse network of community organisations grow their capacity and capability. My specialisms include:- Helping organisations navigate the ever-changing grant funding environment, and mentoring both capital and revenue funding applications;- Designing and delivering events and activity programmes in skateboarding and wider urban culture; and- Developing Impact Evaluation capacity, both for Skateboard GB and for local/regional stakeholders. I am co-founder of the award-winning social enterprise Skate Nottingham CIC.My passion, and an area I'd like to work in more, is contributing to large, multi-disciplinary public realm projects - where I can bring technical expertise to the full life-cycle: from area-based policy, strategy and planning, to fundraising, to participatory design and public engagement, to project and relationship management of built environment contractors, public speaking, evaluation, and activation programming after the project's completion. Prior to this, I was a senior lecturer within the economics division at Nottingham Trent University. I am a Fellow of Advance HE (the Higher Education Academy).
