Chris currently drives the strategic direction and growth of the perishable vertical in Australia and New Zealand with responsibility for business development, solution design, client engagement and retention as well as securing new business opportunities.

Chris was part of the Board of Directors with responsibility for all aspects of logistics and operations. He remodelled the operations strategy and re engineered the supply chain for perishables improving the dwell time considerably creating cost savings for his customers. He achieved the required operational and service goals and managed and improved the relationships with the key accounts for the company. He was involved with the tender and bidding processes and introduced handling and storage separation, improving savings. He managed the contracts and negotiations with warehouses, transporters, shipping lines and government agencies; growing relationships whilst monitoring the quality, cost and efficiency of the various services. He was selected as an industry representative to meet regularly with shipping lines, transporters and agents to discuss the ongoing needs and requirements of the interrelated businesses.

This company was the business partner to farmers, manufacturers, factory owners, exporters, importers, transporters, project cargo firms etc. Chris developed strategies to achieve the best possible supply and service delivery processes to meet their needs. He led opportunities to improve the company's own supply chain and logistics performance including planning, information technology advances, and re-engineering processes. He managed service provider contracts for freight, warehousing and transport. He analysed key service points such as warehouse management, transport coordination, customs clearing, document processing, stock control, shipping line bookings and documents. He actively led opportunities to grow revenue, seeking out new client relationships with sales calls and cultivated existing client relationships. He identified new service opportunities and improved communication flow between key parties involved in perishable shipping. He created a number of document templates which helped to significantly improved accuracy and efficiency in the documentation process. He managed staff across client services, sales, logistics and administration.

The Royal Hotel was the flagship of the Three Cities Hotel chain. The hotel consisted of over two hundred rooms, 6 restaurants, 3 bars and multiple function rooms with more than 300 staff. Chris planned, managed and organised the operations, logistics, services and program of activity behind multiple functions, events and banquets for private and corporate clients. He led each stage from initial client needs analysis through to budgets and he provided what was recognised as one of the best planned Microsoft conferences in the hotels history, significantly lifting the profile of the division and resulting in return business from Microsoft. He was also directly involved in the overall planning for the NAM (Non Aligned Movement) conference in which the Royal Hotel received a wide array of positive PR/publicity while hosting delegates from over 120 member countries.

The company represented many businesses and performed both the sales and merchandising functions on their behalf. One of their key clients was Shell Chemicals and in Chris's time with this company he won best salesman in the country for this client. He was consistently in the top three sales people in the country and he won the award for nine of twelve months. He left the company in December 1995 to further his education.

Chris was conscripted to the SANDF and was chosen to participate in the JL (Junior Leaders) program. He completed the program and was awarded the rank of 2nd lieutenant. Once he had the rank he was given control of the four support platoons that assisted with the efficient running of the military base. Under his leadership he had the conscripted support staff consisting of the drivers, administration staff, kitchen staff, mechanics etc. He competed his service with the SANDF in June of 1993.

Chris worked with this company as a merchandiser for a period of six months. The company represented many businesses and performed both the sales and merchandising functions on their behalf. He left the company in June 1992 to complete his compulsory military conscription.
