SLEM Waalwijk is a new non-profit organization for education and innovation in footwear. We are based in Waalwijk, the Netherlands but work with companies and students from around the world and collaborate with various footwear design schools, especially in Hong Kong and China.SLEM will expand its activities over time; for 2012 we offer a masterclass in Industrial Footwear Design and various workshops for shoe design professionals. We also provide custom made training programs for anyone involved in footwear development. We can assemble a team of expert teachers covering any subjects you need, from technical aspects, to computer technology, creativity, innovative techniques and materials and design management.

Y Trends is a forecasting company specialized in footwear and other industrial design products. We have our own approach, combining a very creative, yet practical mentality with a broad long term vision. We are ideators, rather than 'cool hunters'! We focus on the more strategic side of trend forecasting, publishing international trend information that is both inspirational and informative. Furthermore, we work as consultants for companies all over the world, offering advice on future product development and design management. We also develop effective new 'design tools' to help stimulate creativity in (footwear) companies, such as our very succesful Shoemix Footwear Ideation Game.

THE BFIPC is an organization set up by the local Korean government in order to transform the Busan footwear industry from a conventional labor intensive industry into an intellectual intensive industry. It is my task to help them professionalize all their services and to establish new profitable business relationships with foreign footwear companies aiming to buy, manufacture or sell shoes and parts in Korea.An important aspect of my work is to organize the Busan International Smart Shoe & Parts Fair (BISS), for which I recruited domestic and international exhibitors and buyers by visiting international footwear trade shows and expanded exhibitors to include American corporations, successfully creating revenue and business opportunities for the Korean footwear industry.I modernized all communication towards press and potential business relations, initiating the use of social media including facebook and twitter and webzines, gaining intensive international and local coverage of the event. I was also responsible for the follow up of these promotional activities, matching buyers, designers and media with the necessary contacts and arranging transportation and accommodation for VIPs.For BISS I organized seminars and forums and acquired industry specialists as speakers to cover each area. Furthermore, I founded the Designer Hill program, an awards scheme to promote both Korean and international footwear design talent. Special achievements: • Acquiring $22 million in orders for Korean companies at WSA in Las Vegas in August 2010• Landing a deal with Nike to plan their Suppliers Fair at BISS 2010• Assisted Baeksan in receiving a 2.25 million pair order from Columbia after BISS 2009• Increased international exhibitor participation from 5% to 45%

The bar is currently lead by my business partner, but I had an active part in starting it. I hired and managed staff and remodeled the interior to create an atmosphere that caters to the local expat community. I was in charge of accounting, bookkeeping and managing inventory, booked bands, promoted the venue and increased hype of special events through social media tools such as Facebook. My experience in the hospitality business serves me well in my current job as a marketing director.

I taught students between 7 and 16 in English reading, writing, speaking and listening skills at a private English academy. The primary focus was to prepare students for upcoming TOEFL exams. Developed monthly assessment reports on students and assisted in new teacher interviews

During my studies I worked at the ABC Dental Center, in various jobs. I sought and evaluated bid proposals for computer upgrades for 30 user networks, developed and implemented hardware and software transition from peer to peer network to domain network and maintained the central data storage. Furthermore, I trained all 40 staff on new system and software utilization.

As an accounts receivable manager, I established payment plans and financial arrangements for patients, reducing outstanding receivables by 35%. I reconciled accounts and managed credit extensions and collections proceedings.
