At WeatherBELL, I designed and developed web and data products in our cloud-computing environment, using object-oriented programming. After our web developer left, I taught myself JavaScript (Angular), PHP, and SQL database design to save approximately $100,000 on the salary for a full-stack developer for a year. I then onboarded our new web developer and led management on four projects and helped design five new products, involving user data analytics, social media, PR, video scripting, video production, and software development. Most recently, I have led pre-sales calls and follow-up communication.

At CFAN, I led the four-person Hurricane Team and drove the development of web and data Hurricane Products, collaborating with CFAN’s president regularly. While leading this team, I managed projects, involving a mix of meteorology, data analysis, software development, and web UI/UX design, using Python and Matlab. During this time, we doubled our product and client base. I represented CFAN to clients, including in-person support for a client during a landfalling hurricane which allowed us to retain our largest contract ($60,000). Some of my most satisfying work was statistical meteorology research to add value to raw weather data.

I prepared weather forecast graphics and performing live broadcasts weekly. In this role I had about an hour to compile weather forecast data and create a compelling narrative to deliver live on a television station available to 26,000 viewers.

I analyzed wildfire, earthquake, terrorism, and weather data, using ArcGIS, Python, and SQL, to inform underwriting and other business policies. I also organized a four-person intern team to present business insights to the enterprise catastrophe risk team.
