No excuses, no explanations. Just sprint.These were the motto's of the George Fox University men's basketball team during my last two years as a Bruin. Since graduating cum laude from George Fox with a bachelors in mechanical engineering, I continue to strive to “sprint” forward without excuses or explanations. As a member of the Siemens Mobility manufacturing team, I have developed various tools in Excel to aid in BOM checks, created and standardized detailed assembly drawings in SolidWorks, and written product testing procedures based on IEEE standards before implementing them in the production process. These items were ways for me to help others in my team by reducing task times, easing the production process, and increasing product quality while keeping my focus on the people involved. Growing up as a missionary kid in Kenya, Africa, my parents taught me the importance of people and relationships. I still hold on to this, and the easiest way for me to begin to learn about the people I'm working with and for is simply making the effort to learn their names. I keep a positive focus by seeing how the tasks or roles I'm performing can help make their jobs just a little easier. My four years of NCAA Div. 3 basketball reinforced this and created a desire in me to be honest, dependable, and teachable.
