Our team has begun testing the current generation of air, ground, and maritime robotic platforms with the goal of establishing an industry standard for what will be the first generation of rescue-specific robotics. Working with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), we are helping to develop the International Standard Test Methods for Response Robots that measure both robot and operator capabilities.

Also established contact and maintain relationships with new Fire Adapted Communities and existing Firewise USA sites and successfully navigate the Firewise process to include recognitions. Effectively conduct Firewise Landscaping, Home Ignition Zone training and Fire adapted Communities education and presentations for the community and city departments. Identify and respond to community issues, concerns, and needs and develop mitigation strategies. Help the Austin Firewise Alliance conduct quantitative and qualitative risk assessments and demonstrate proficiency in conduction of Home ignition Zone evaluations. Member and Co-Chair of the Austin/Travis County Wildfire Coalition, Public Education and Outreach Task Group.Member of the AFD Fire Module Team. Qualified Engine Boss (ENGB) and Firing Boss trainee (FIRBt). The Module is the primary resource to conduct Rx burning (prescribed fire) operations. The Team consist of highly skilled and versatile uniformed firefighters and civilians, providing technical and ecological based expertise in the areas of prescribed fire and wildfire response.Work with The City of Austin’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management in the Austin/Travis County Emergency Operations Center (EOC). I worked as the Planning Section Chief (PSC3) for the EOC COVID-19 Response Vaccine Group on the distribution planning and operations for the vaccine.
