Human Resources Generalist
Current• Advises managers, supervisors, and Department liaisons on employment strategies and policy.• Assists the Talent Acquisition Manager on the full employment requisition, recruitment and selection process for accuracy, completeness, and City policy and legal compliance. • Participates in special projects: staff committees, Employee Advisory Council, Employee of the Year, Service Awards, Wellness Fair, etc. • Administers pre-employment examinations and testing.• Administers MUNIS database for employment information, benefits plans and deductions, leave accruals and other human resources functions. • Analyzes applicants' experience/training for job requirements for employment.• Identifies recruitment sources and composes advertisement text and announcements.• Develops course guidelines and objectives and teaches Employment Policies and Procedures workshop.• Presents materials related to employment in meetings to department managers, supervisors, and department liaisons.• Implements NEOGOV/employment applicant tracking software modules.• Assists in the training of department liaisons on use of NEOGOV/employment applicant tracking system (ATS), serves as point of contact between ATS vendor and City.• Administers employee and retiree benefits determining eligibility, assists with new employee orientation, exit interviews, maintains retiree monthly electronic deduction reports for the City's Pension plans.• Maintains and updates active and retiree Life beneficiary changes.• Processes verbal and written employment verifications.• Advises co-workers in processing Personnel Action Forms (PAFs) for accuracy and other City benefits.• Serves as subject matter expert on benefit policies, data entry processing of PAFs, and daily filing.• Consults with Payroll/Accounting, and Health Care Representatives reconciling errors with health and Life benefit invoices. • Collects and analyzes data for a variety of reports.
