I support the Trust’s IG management requirements and facilitate compliance with them, advising the SIRO and Caldicott Guardian to enable informed decision making. Acting as the Trust Specialist Lead on all matters pertaining to Information Governance and as Data Protection Officer providing expert guidance and interpretation. I provide specialist advice to the organisation and support compliance and conformance with all relevant standards and legislation, including the Data Protection Act (2018), General Data Protection Regulations 2016 (GDPR) and Freedom of Information Act (2000) (FOI) as well as effective implementation of IG management and controls relating to national monitoring frameworks. In particular the annual Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT), CQC standards and NHS Codes of Practice.I also manage the Trust's Information Asset Register and Information Sharing Agreements and line manage the rest of the Information Governance team.

Providing project support to deliver updated data privacy compliance arrangements across the Council through collection, collation, analysis and presentation of management information relating to the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).Developing and designing policies, procedures and tools to provide advice and help employees to understand what is required of them to ensure the Council is compliant with GDPR and Data Protection legislation. This includes PIA's, SAR's, Privacy Notices, External Information Requests, Council Policies, Supplier Contracts, Physical / Technical Security, Incident / Breach Management and gap analysis to identify shortcomings in our ways of working or technology.Developing a set of data flow maps for personal data across the authority.

In this role I am responsible for developing & managing the Trust’s Membership scheme through the newly created Supporter Engagement team and outside agencies to grow our charitable income. Currently I am creating and implementing a strategy for memberrecruitment and other supporter stewarding by identifying friendly, positiveand cost effective approaches with measurable KPI’s. My direct reports include inbound and outbound call agents to retain and cultivate existing supporters while generating new leads as well as in house face to face recruiters. I am also responsible for managing our accounts with agency contact centres & face to face recruiters, ensuring they hit their targets & SLAs.As part of the Senior Leadership Team I produce the budget for Supporter Engagement and help develop the wider overall budget for consideration by the Trustees.

I lead a newly restructured team that provides service and support to over 1 million RSPB members as well as fielding enquiries from the general public. Responsible for ensuring we achieved high service levels and short response times to over 850 emails, 200 written and 1100 calls received each week. I designed and rolled out a 10 stage course to improve service response & complaint handling, increase member retention and increase upselling to existing supporters. To support this, I enacted a project to create new best practices and automation of administration tasks to focus more of agents’ time on supporter contact. I was responsible for a team that processes transactions and the data protection challenges this can create. I was also involved in feeding back data on various face to face, telemarketing, email and postal campaigns to try and improve uptake and work closely with the media team to respond to supporters around press activity.

I headed up an experimental project to bring in house areas of an entirely franchised fresh produce delivery business. I more than doubled the size of the operation from 78,000 deliveries a year to 166,000 while reducing labour costs from 13% to under 10% & increasing gross margin from 4.2% to over 11% through improved recruitment & retention of customers and increased efficiency migrating to modern technology. I completed the John Lewis Retail Management Trainee scheme, progressing from an Assistant Manager Trainee to Duty Manager in 3 years. In my final role I had direct responsibility for over £4.25 million sales a year as well as running the entire store (sales of £20 million pa.) in the absence of the Branch Manager. Specialised in set up, roll out & improving efficiency of home delivery operations. • Line manager of a team of up to 60 employees, including responsibility for their Annual Performance Reviews & pay grading.• Supported the opening of over a dozen branches with particular emphasis on rolling out the internet home delivery service• Undertook analysis of sales trends to identify areas of possible improvement.
