The real world application of technology and how it can be used to help people and, in particular, business is where my interest and passion lies. Through my career I have designed, built and implemented many different forms of technology - from advanced, high-tech electronics used in highly complex, large systems, to applying commoditised information technology (IT) solutions in a variety of small and medium sized businesses. I have been integral in setting up and managing technology to monitor, automate and report on business systems, to analyse and interrogate business information and to control business processes to maximise efficiency and quality.In order to be successful in my roles, attention to detail and a thorough, technical understanding of the nuts and bolts of not only the technology but also the solution as a whole, has been imperative. I am also able to maintain focus on the bigger picture, to link the detail with the strategy, ensuring the needs and objectives of all stakeholders are met. This has included management of complex projects, which have demanded accuracy in the detail as well as alignment and adherence to the overall goals.My career has afforded me the opportunity to work in large, medium and small organisations, both as member and as leader of highly technical and innovative teams. I started a business which served small and medium sized organisations, and later merged it with a similar company to form a successful and highly respected industry leader. My broad exposure to different businesses, multiple leadership roles and deeply technical work has placed me in an ideal position to provide consulting advice and guidance to others, especially in the area of building and running a business and how and where both technology and process can be leveraged to improve business performance. I am also well-suited to project managing the execution of strategies, with close adherence to the established measurement criteria.
