I worked in Terry Speed's Bioformatics group on a project searching for the genes involved in Multiple Sclerosis (funded through the CRC for the Discovery of Genes for Common Human Diseases). The geneCRC MS project involved the genotyping of over 1200 individuals using a 5cM genome wide scan (811 microsatellite markers) to search for genetic loci associated with MS.

I worked as a research scientist studying explosive shock (blast) effects in air and underwater environments in the Terminal Effects Group of Weapon Systems Division. I was involved in computational modelling and conducting experimental field trials. I received a TTCP award for a collaborative project studying explosive effects in littoral environments.
