I'm interested in commercialisation and I'm a Trustee at Large with LESANZ I have experience drafting and prosecuting patents in software and internet applications, telecommunications, electronics, signal processing , medical devices, engineering and manufacturing related technology. I enjoy working with clients to assist them in navigating the often complex and confusing world of IP protection. I have an in-depth understanding of IP system and IP laws, and work with you to determine the most appropriate strategy for protecting your technology. I consider my role is to become a member of your team, bringing my understanding of IP laws to assist in helping your company to succeed and grow.I have a diverse technological background which I draw upon to assist my clients. I a PhD in experimental astrophysics which involved building, calibrating and running a cosmic ray detector in the Utah desert. I then worked as a researcher in explosive blast effects area for DSTG (think real-life MythBusters), before changing tack to work as a bioinformatician for the WEHI, WCHRI and University of Adelaide assisting biologists to understand the genetic basis for Leukaemia and Embryonic Stem Cell development through the use of high throughput technologies and data analysis techniques.I'm able to rapidly engage with new clients to understand their technical language and problems in order to assist in them in protecting their innovative solutions. Through this diverse background and experience I've had the opportunity to work alongside people from a range of technical backgrounds, and gained exposure to a wide range of technologies and data analysis techniques.I'm also involved with LESANZ, which is an professional organisation for those working in or with an interest in commercialisation.Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any IP queries
