Consult with members pertaining to retirement and benefits into retirement. Represent the MEA before the Office of Retirement Services and Michigan Legislature on pension related issues and legislation. Also responsible for advising members on their state certification for employment in Michigan Public Schools.

Responsible for lobbying and representing MEA before the Michigan Legislature on issues with a focus on retirement, health and labor.

Lobbty and advocate for MEA members with the the Michigan Legislature and US Congress on pension and retiree health benefits.

Reponsible for negotiations and represntation of 1000 school employees in 9 school districts located in mid Michigan.

President of the NSO and have served in that capacity since 1998. NSO is a union of 5000 members union members who are employed by the National Educaton Association and their member affiliates. In addition NSO represents a number of non education association union affiliates. We provide defense and program related serrvices to our affiliates and manage a $6 million dollar budget. We are the largest union of union staff in the United States.
