    Managed a multifunctional team of up to 25 engineers located in U.S., Europe, Asia and Africa involved in developing embedded software for automotive body-control systems.• Assumed management, after the departure of the previous team leader, of software for a high-current power distribution module for Ford medium-duty trucks. Worked with customer and overseas developers to successfully diagnose and correct customer issues.• Developed AutoSAR-based software for a Ford eight-channel CAN (controller area network) gateway that supporting both classic CAN and CANFD signaling. Deployed by Ford on six platforms. Delivered move than one-million units over five years – product is still in production. • Developed software for a massage seat controller used by Ford and GM. Product used a proprietary AutoSAR-like framework. Software was hand-coded in C on Abstraction and Service layers and used MathCAD models for the Application layer. Product lifetime 2013 through present.• Legacy product support after the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami destroyed Japanese fabrication plants. Identified available MCUs that could run the existing software or provided modified software for other MCUs. OEMs were able to continue providing spare parts for 1990-2010 vehicles.

With one other engineer, developed software for proprietary remote keyless entry system. Later added support for receiving data from wheel mounted tire pressure monitoring transmitters. Project was challenging as it needed to be able to receive data at all times but needed to conserve power when the vehicle was not running.• Heated, 16-way power seat controller for Chevrolet, GMC and Cadillac trucks and SUVs. With one other engineer, developed software for a 16-way heated seat for GM’s flagship trucks and SUVs. The 16-way seat included memory for two drivers. For safety, total module current was measured along with motor and heating current to make certain that incoming current matched outgoing current.
