I am a licensed architect for over 35 years specializing in custom residential design. I am registered in New York State and am a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. My expertise includes lake house and ski home design, timber frame construction, historic preservation, adaptive re-use structures, and residential/commercial building code conformance. In 2004, I started Design Works Architecture, P.C. and have been helping clients achieve their goals and dreams for their building ever since. I lead a small team of talented project managers and designers in schematic design, code conformance and construction document review. When appropriate, we partner with interior designers and landscape architects for the most effective and enjoyable living space. We take particular pride in our extensive knowledge of construction and building technology. Our optional bid administration, construction administration and construction management partnerships help us become better architects and advocates for our clients. I preserve my youth by cycling, running and playing hockey in a weekly “old guys” league. I enjoy my clients and the challenges they ask us for help in solving. I believe that architecture is a business that should be centered on listening; listening to the client, the surrounding community, the site, the environment and the business associates. I still have the desire to listen for the clues and then find solutions.
